Fleecefield
Primary School
At Fleecefield, children get just the right blend of learning through play, adult-child interactions and adult guided activities.
We have a fantastic outdoor space at Fleecefield and we make the most of it. Outdoor learning is great for developing confidence, resilience and the ability to collaborate, as well as having clear benefits in terms of physical development and well-being.
Why should my child attend nursery?
-
Attending nursery is an important way of developing a child's confidence, communication and social skills.
-
Children get the opportunity to be independent and form new relationships, skills that are important for their long-term mental and emotional wellbeing.
-
The routine and structure of time spent at nursery eases a child’s transition to school, especially when the nursery and the primary school are one and the same.
Who can attend?
-
All children get 15 hours of nursery a week for free when they are three or four. They start nursery in the September after they turn three.
-
Some places are available for at the beginning of the term after a child turns three (we call these children Rising Threes). This means that a child born in October could start nursery in the January after they turn three.
-
Families get 15 hours of nursery a week — three hours a day as a morning session. This is paid for by Enfield Borough Council.
-
Three and four-year-old children with two working parents or carers, or a working single parent or carer, can attend nursery for 30 hours a week. This is paid for by Enfield Borough Council.
What do I do now?
-
You can check if your three or four-year-old is eligible for 30 hours of nursery HERE. You will get a code if your three or four-year-old is eligible.
-
All applications (three and four-year-olds and 30 hours) are made to the borough council. This is done HERE. You will be asked for a code if you are seeking a place for 30 hours.
-
We can support you through this process. Please email us HERE, call us on 020 8807 7899 or come in to the school reception to find out more about this support.
